City of Bones: Movie Trailer

Movie: City of Bones
Series: The Mortal Instruments
From the Author: Cassandra Clare
Movie Director: Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid)
Mentioned Release date: August 23rd, 2013

Unless you have been living under a rock in the past few weeks, you must know now that the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Book #1 of the series by Cassandra Clare) is going to be made in a movie and will be out in cinemas by August 23rd, 2013 (I can't wait this long!!).

Now I know, from my book review on City of Bones I did not seem overly excited about it. But the further I got through the series, the more I fell in love with the stories and the characters! Especially after seeing this trailer I can't wait to see the first book as a movie! Now I know from experience that movies originating from books are not always as good as the book itself, but this will definitely not stop me from seeing City of Bones! The director is also known from the movies The Karate Kid, Pink Panther 2, and Agent Cody Banks. AND, he is Dutch (as I am), so there's a proud moment for me ^^

See the trailer below:

Now I wasn't too fond of the castings (as I imagined Jace much more built and Handsome!) but after seeing the trailer I am slightly more convinced.

The cast list is as following:

Clary Fray ....................... Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures of Snow White)
Jace Wayland .................. Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot ; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 & 2)
Simon Lewis ................... Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch)
Alec Lightwood ............... Kevin Zegers (It's a Boy Girl Thing)
Isabelle Lightwood .......... Jemima West
Valentine Morgenstern ..... Jonathan Rhys Meyers (From Paris with Love; The Tudors)
Jocelyn Fray ................... Lena Headey (300)
Luke Garroway ............... Aidan Turner (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)
Magnus Bane .................. Godfrey Gao

Check for more information of the characters here.

Not too bad I would say, especially Alec Lightwood and Valentine Morgenstern (hubba hubba!). And they better dye Jonathan (Valentine's) hair bleach blond or else they'll completely fail to portray his icey cold character...

So are you readers who have read the City of Bones looking forward to the movie?? I know I am!!

Review on City of Glass (Book #3) will follow very soon!

Peachy Feature: Feature and Follow # 2 Thankful

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can ReadCheck out their blogs to learn more about the rules and to eventually join in!

I really love this Meme, it is a perfect way to put yourself out there as a blogger and meet new bloggers as yourself! If you would like to follow me, you can do this through GFC (Google Friend Connect) or via email!
Make sure to notify me once you have followed me (by posting a comment below the blog post) so I can check out your FF and follow you back :) Also let me know if you have taken my button, I would love you grab your button as well and place it on my blog!

So let's start! The question for this Friday is:

Q: Are you thankful for a fellow blogger? Tell us about him or her.

Throughout my blogging times, I have been privileged to know many other fellow bloggers who share the same passion and values for books which have led to very interesting book conversations and diverse insights. Up to this very moment I have enjoyed this immensely so I would say that I am thankful to all my fellow followers who not only take their time to stop by but also leave a genuine comment on one of my reviews or random blog posts. They take the time to express their beliefs and opinions. Aside from reading books and writing reviews, I love going into book discussions and sharing different perceptions with other readers.
Thank you to all my followers who care to take a moment to express their opinions and perceptions, as this is one of the main things which keeps me going as a book blogger!

Of course I have fellow bloggers who inspire me, not only with their thoughtful insights, but also how they write their reviews, portray their blogs, and the way they maintain their followers. Among these mainly has been Linny's Literature. She was one of the first book bloggers I followed, and therefore I always checked back on her reviews. Unfortunately lately she hasn't been as active, but we all have our moments of spending time on other things in life. I look forward to her return!

Book Review: Matched (Matched #1) by Ally Condie

My Rating:
Book: Matched (Matched #1)
Author: Ally Condie
Publication date: November 30th, 2010
Synopsis:
Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.
